Prime Video has officially released the trailer for The Love Hypothesis, the highly anticipated film adaptation of Ali Hazelwood’s New York Times best-selling romance novel. Starring Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman, the movie will stream globally on Prime Video starting September 23.
You can watch the official trailer on YouTube now, and based on the first look, fans of the book have plenty to be excited about.
What Is The Love Hypothesis About?
The film follows Olive, played by Lili Reinhart, a brilliant Ph.D. candidate who is laser-focused on her academic future. Everything gets complicated when she discovers that her best friend Ahn (Rachel Marsh) has fallen for Olive’s own crush, Jeremy (Nicholas Duvernay). To prove she has moved on, Olive impulsively kisses Adam Carlsen (Tom Bateman), an intimidating professor with a reputation that precedes him.
That single impulsive decision spirals into a fake relationship built on rules, boundaries, and a mutually beneficial arrangement. But as the lines between performance and real feelings start to blur, Olive is forced to face her most difficult hypothesis yet: that love might actually be worth the risk.
It is the classic fake-dating trope elevated by a workplace-academia setting, and the trailer suggests the chemistry between Reinhart and Bateman is exactly what fans of the book have been hoping to see on screen.
