Stepping into the shoes of Lord Krishna is a challenge that comes with immense responsibility and expectations.

For actor Siddharth Gupta, however, the journey began with a clean slate. Instead of revisiting previous portrayals of the iconic character, the actor chose to rely on his own understanding and preparation, allowing himself to bring a fresh perspective to the role in Krishnavartaram.
Speaking about his process of preparing for the character, Siddharth shared, “I’ve never seen an episode, there was no reference. So that I can bring something fresh to the table. I auditioned, I cleared it. And when I got the chance, I just wanted to read as much as possible. So that I create my own vision of Krishna. When I was preparing more, I was not scared at all. Yes, the whole pressure of actually what I’ve played happened when I saw the film.”
The actor’s approach reflects his commitment to authenticity rather than imitation. By avoiding external references, Siddharth gave himself the creative freedom to interpret the character through extensive reading and research, ensuring his portrayal was rooted in his own understanding of Lord Krishna’s essence. Interestingly, it wasn’t the preparation or the shoot that made him feel the weight of the role. Instead, the realization dawned only after watching the completed film, when the significance of portraying one of mythology’s most revered figures truly sank in.
With Krishnavartaram, Siddharth Gupta has embraced a role that carries both artistic and emotional significance. His thoughtful preparation and honest reflections offer a glimpse into the dedication that went into bringing Lord Krishna to life on screen, making the journey as memorable as the performance itself.
