Medha Shankr marked an interesting turn in her filmography by transitioning from the quiet realism of 12th Fail to the breezy charm of Ginny Wedss Sunny 2. The actress was immensely praised for her grounded performance in 12th Fail, however, she admits that she naturally gravitates towards love stories – as an actor and as an individual.
“I am a very romantic person. I love romance. So, apart from the good work that I am looking forward to doing, I must say that I am also giving equal importance to my personal life this year. Of course, there’s nothing happening in my personal life and so I want to focus on it,” she says.
The actress further opens up about the kind of romance she enjoys on-screen, revealing that she inclines towards stories with a bittersweet edge. “I really like The Holiday. It’s such a comfort film. I also like Love & Other Drugs. I like a little melancholy in my romantic comedy films,” she shares.
Slightly away from the camera, Medha Shankr turned showstopper for designer Suneet Varma at Bombay Times Fashion Week earlier this year, a kind of experience she describes as exciting and intimidating. “To walk along side models who have done this for a very long time is not easy. So, there was pressure, but it was fun, too and I loved the experience,” she admits.
The actress was last seen in the breezy rom-com Ginny Weds Sunny 2, and her admirers are eager to know what she has in store next!
