Ramayana stands as one of the biggest films representing India on a global scale, with an unprecedented vision. In a remarkable moment at CinemaCon 2026, the film unveiled its costumes on an international platform marking a significant step for an Indian story being presented to the world
Ramayana is already being hailed as the biggest cinematic event of 2026, with anticipation building across the globe. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, in collaboration with 8-time Oscar-winning DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the film is envisioned as a grand two-part global spectacle, rooted in one of India’s most revered epics. While the Rama glimpse was recently released, it left everyone stunned with everything it presented, from VFX and sound design to casting and sheer grandeur. Though it offered a slight glimpse into the world of this epic, the world witnessed the reveal of the costumes of Rama, Sita, and Ravana at CinemaCon 2026—bringing an Indian mythological narrative to a global podium.
At CinemaCon 2026, Ramayana had a global showcase of its costumes, and it was stunning on a whole different level. As the photos were shared online, Ranbir Kapoor’s look as Rama featured a blue dhoti paired with a maroon and gold shawl, complemented by a large gold crown and jewellery. On the other hand, Sai Pallavi’s Sita was presented in a simpler red saree with a necklace, reflecting grace and cultural authenticity. Yash’s Ravana costume was displayed on a mannequin. Fans got a closer look at his striking black and intricately designed gold ensemble. The look appeared to be crafted as battle armour, complete with an elaborate crown, gold breastplate, shoulder pads, armbands, cuffs, and an ornate dhoti.
This is indeed a magnificent display of Ramayana on the global stage. The way this epic is taking Indian cinema to a global level is setting a new benchmark, showcasing how stories deeply rooted in Indian culture can resonate across audiences worldwide. Namit Malhotra and his team are representing India on a global platform with unprecedented scale and vision.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the two-part epic will release in IMAX worldwide — Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
