The independent film made its initial run in theaters in February, and has now debuted on Netflix worldwide!
Actor Molshri and director Tanmaya Shekhar ran an on the ground marketing campaign to spread the news of their film ‘Nukkad Naatak’, showcasing nukkad naatak’s in local slum areas around a tech university. The film follows Molshri’s character, Molshri, and her friend Shivang who get expelled from their university after stealing to help a kid in the slums. The university director challenges them to get five children from the slums to enroll in their local school — if they can succeed, they will be reinstated.
Our host spoke with Molshri and Shekhar about the creation of the film, why they wanted to showcase this story, and their marketing campaign that got the film to Netflix.
