Indian-born producer Gaurang Bhat, now based in Los Angeles, is making waves in the global entertainment industry through his work on major Hollywood trailers and impactful documentaries. “I’ve been passionate about telling stories for as long as I can remember,” says Bhat. “When working on trailers, my goal is always to find the emotional core of the film and create a real connection with the audience without revealing too much.”
Drawing from India’s rich storytelling traditions and blending them with the focused style of the West, Bhat believes this unique perspective helps his work resonate on a universal level. “Growing up, stories were a part of everyday life — through mythology, folktales, and family traditions. That emotional depth shapes everything I create,” he shares.
One of Bhat’s most personal projects is the documentary Sparsh – Leprosy Mission. Inspired by his mother, Bhat aimed to spotlight the silent suffering of leprosy patients. “I wanted to portray their pain in the rawest, most honest form possible and give them the visibility and compassion they deserve,” he says.
Having collaborated with studios like Paramount and Universal on trailers for Gladiator 2, Sonic 3, and A Quiet Place: Day One, Bhat offers insight into the intense process behind the scenes. “A trailer is the film’s first impression. It needs to be emotionally engaging while protecting the movie’s secrets. It’s about finding that one hook that truly resonates.”
Despite the demands of high-profile projects, Bhat finds balance by working on personal films. “Commercial work is client-driven, but personal projects offer freedom to explore your own vision,” he explains.
Currently juggling multiple upcoming releases, Bhat remains tight-lipped about the details. “They’ll be out in a couple of months for the world to see,” he teases.
With his unique blend of emotional storytelling and cinematic craftsmanship, Gaurang Bhat is fast becoming a voice to watch in the entertainment world.
