Actress Madhurima Tuli is set to star in an upcoming film ‘Tehran’ with John Abraham, and speaks about the difference between the television and film industry. She also talks about what it was like working with Abraham, and her character in the film.
1. You’ve been in both films and done television shows -> which medium do you think gives you the most creativity as an actor?
“It definitely has to be films because in films, you don’t portray one character for like 2-3 years – you portray three characters in 2-3 years. So you get to explmore more as an actor, you have more creativity.”
2. What is your character in ‘Tehran’?
“I’m playing John Abraham’s [character’s] wife in my upcoming film ‘Tehran’, and it’s a beautiful character. She’s a very independent, strong headed woman. She loves her family and I thoroughly enjoyed playing this character because she had like a lot of emotions and a lot of strength in her character.”
3. What was it like working with John Abraham?
“It was fantastic working with John Abraham, he’s an amazing human being, and a fantastic actor. We had a few scenes together , and he’s very cooperative. He first broke the ice when we met for the first time on set, and then it was very chilled and cordial.”
4. What is a dream role you would love to play at some point?
“Every role that I play has been a dream role for me till date, I mean whether it’s Anjali Singh Rajput in ‘Baby’, whether it’s princess warrior Chandrakantha, it has been a very different journey for me. I would love to explore more, I have a lot of dream roles. I would love to again play a princess warrior, or maybe just a girl who is struggling with her life, and how she accomplishes her goals.”
5. Do you want to make a complete switch to films, or are you open to any medium?
“I definitely want to do more films because films are really something I really enjoy watching and also working in. I also enjoy watching web shows, like I’ve done a few shows also, but I’m looking forward to doing more films definitely.”
