Lyricist Siddhant Kaushal, known for his powerful and diverse body of work, has emerged as a prominent personality in the Indian music industry. With songs spanning genres from soul-stirring ghazals to high-energy party tracks, Siddhant’s versatility has captured the attention of audiences and industry veterans alike. Reflecting on his creative process for Dhoom Dhaam, Siddhant shared, “The creative process was collaborative and one of the most beautiful ones. We all used to sit together, eat together, and make songs. I thrive on this process. We were all working as a unit for one common goal.” He fondly recalled working closely with Aditya Dhar and Yami Gautam, emphasizing the joyful yet focused environment that contributed to the album’s success.

Siddhant’s journey from Jalandhar to Mumbai has been one of perseverance and self-discovery. “I moved to Mumbai in 2012 to become a singer and by chance became a lyricist,” he shared. “I experienced an identity crisis, especially when people started calling me to write and not sing. But my colleagues and seniors always encouraged me. More than me, somehow they knew I had a knack for lyric writing.” Siddhant credits this supportive environment for helping him overcome self-doubt and develop his craft, learning on the job to build his successful career.

Having penned emotionally charged tracks like Nikat from Kill, Piharva, and Soch Ke, as well as energetic hits like Haaye Oye and Prem Pujari, Siddhant finds inspiration in the music itself. “As I wanted to be a singer, I prefer writing my words to a melody. The melody gives my thoughts wings,” he explained. “I always say this — if we can feel so many emotions, why hold back from writing about them?” This openness has allowed him to craft songs that resonate across moods and genres, demonstrating his remarkable adaptability.

One of Siddhant’s most impactful creations, Guzar Jayega, emerged as a beacon of hope during the pandemic. “It was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life,” he said. Collaborating with Varun Prabhudayal Gupta, Jay Verma, and composer Jazim Sharma, Siddhant wrote the track over a series of Zoom calls. Featuring Amitabh Bachchan and several prominent artists, the song was later shared by the PMO, deeply resonating with listeners across the country. “I was flooded with messages and calls, and many people reached out just to express what they felt after hearing Guzar Jayega,” Siddhant recalled. “I’m just happy that it connected emotionally with everyone.”

From heartfelt compositions to high-energy numbers, Siddhant Kaushal continues to captivate listeners with his ability to translate emotions into impactful lyrics, establishing himself as a distinctive voice in Indian music.
