Independent writer and director Aditya Kripalani is currently working on the post production and promotion of his upcoming film ‘I’m Not an Actor”, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Chitrangada Singh in lead roles.
As a creative, Kripalani came up with the plot and concept of the film based on his own experiences, and shares what he hopes the film will convey to audiences.
Kripalani also explains that as an independent writer and director, finding production companies that will fund films can be difficult, especially when you want to maintain your creative liberty.
When he was casting for the film, Kripalani had the vision of guerilla-style filmmaking, and knew that he wanted to cast Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role. Chitrangada Singh was then locked opposite him after a series of auditions, and her character is mainly filmed in India.
“I’m Not an Actor” is set to release later this year, and will be premiered at the Cinequest Film Festival currently being held in California.
