Music composer duo Nikhil-Siddhesh marked their return with their latest track, “Front Seat Honsla,” which released on January 24. Positioned as the anthem of 2025, this peppy, motivational track blended humor and perseverance to inspire listeners to embrace their desires while navigating life’s daily struggles.
“‘Front Seat Honsla’ reflected our own journey through challenges and rejections,” the duo shared. “It was all about pushing forward while keeping things light and fun. We hoped it would give listeners the motivation and energy to take on their goals with confidence, whether they were tackling New Year’s resolutions or simply enjoying life’s ups and downs.”
Inspiration and Creation
Born out of the idea of blending Bollywood flair with relatable storytelling, “Front Seat Honsla” aimed to energize audiences while bringing a smile to their faces. The track featured contributions from vocalists Akash Tripathi and Mihir Joshi, and guitarist Saurabh Bhonjal, who added layers of depth and excitement to the music.
A Unique Blend of Classical Music and Engineering
As childhood friends with training in Hindustani and Western classical music, and engineering backgrounds, Nikhil-Siddhesh brought a unique approach to their compositions. “Classical music gave us a foundation for crafting melodies, while engineering added technical finesse to our process. It was a blend of tradition and innovation that helped us push creative boundaries,” they explained.
Relatable Storytelling That Resonates
With previous hits like “Kurbaan” and “Tumse Pyaar Hai,” the duo had earned a reputation for relatable storytelling and emotional connection. “Front Seat Honsla” continued that trend, drawing inspiration from everyday experiences like navigating Mumbai’s chaotic local trains. “It was about finding humor in life’s small moments while keeping the focus on big dreams,” they said.
Looking Ahead
As independent artists, Nikhil-Siddhesh constantly innovated while staying true to their artistic identity. They had been working on their first-ever EP, exploring themes of freedom and self-expression, and collaborating with vocalists Rupali Moghe and Ayesha Mukherjee. “We wanted to keep telling stories that resonated with our listeners while experimenting with genres like rock, Indian classical, and electronic music,” they revealed.
With its high-energy vibe and relatable theme, the track struck a chord with listeners and set the tone for the year ahead.
