Actress and Producer Nikkita Ghag encourages People To Light Diyas and Decorate Homes instead of bursting fireworks this Diwali

Bekaaboo 3 fame Nikkita Ghag has urged everyone to stop bursting crackers on Diwali. In a recent interview, the actress explained that fire crackers not only harm our environment but also disturb animals. She shared that while crackers might provide a few seconds of joy, one must refrain from bursting them for the larger betterment.

 

 

“Firecrackers contribute significantly to pollution, including noise, air, and environmental pollution, which can have harmful effects on both people’s and animals’ health, as well as the overall health of the ecosystem. A more friendly way to celebrate is by lighting diyas and decorating homes,” she said.

“I believe people should consider stopping the use of firecrackers, as they provide only a few seconds of joy but cause considerable harm to the environment. Everyone has their own way of celebrating. It’s essential to celebrate in a manner that doesn’t harm any living being,” the actress added.

Nikkita Ghag further talked about Diwali and revealed that the festival has always been very special to her. Sharing her plans for the festival this time, the actress added,

“Today is Dhanteras, so I’ll be performing the pooja for grains and Lord Dhanvantari. Tomorrow, for Lakshmi Pooja, I’ll follow the rituals dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi. I also enjoy giving back during Diwali. Every day, we go out to serve food to those in need, both people and animals. This is how I love to celebrate my Diwali.”

The actress recalled her childhood Diwali memories and revealed how she used to make rangoli at home. She also clarified that she never burst crackers because she has always been a pet lover.

“I looked forward to the decorations and festive activities around the house, but I never burst crackers because I loved animals and was aware of the harm they cause to both wildlife and the environment. Although my celebrations have changed over the years due to the busyness of life and work, I believe it’s essential to keep our inner child alive. This year, I’m determined to celebrate Diwali with a blast!” she concluded.
