Kim Jae Joong Releases Pre-Release Single “I AM U” Ahead of 20th-Anniversary Album

Kim Jae Joong, the renowned South Korean singer and performer, has unveiled his latest single, “I AM U,” as a precursor to his forthcoming full-length album, “FLOWER GARDEN.” This release marks the celebration of his 20th anniversary in the music industry. “I AM U” is now available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music, and the music video can be viewed online.

“I AM U” is a deeply personal track dedicated to Jae Joong’s loyal listeners, with lyrics co-written by the artist himself to reflect on the shared memories and experiences with his fans over the past two decades. The single serves as a heartfelt thank you to his fanbase, showcasing his emotional connection and gratitude.

The release of “I AM U” follows the successful completion of Jae Joong’s fan concert tour, “I’M TWENTY,” which included performances in South Korea, Australia, Macau, Taiwan, and Japan. This single is his first musical offering in 2024, following his previous album, “BORN GENE,” which was released in September 2022.

Kim Jae Joong first debuted on December 23, 2003, as a member of the iconic K-pop group TVXQ! (also known as DBSK and Tohoshinki in Japan) at the young age of 17. TVXQ!’s album “MIROTIC – The 4th Album” topped South Korean charts in 2008 and won the Golden Disc Award for Album of the Year. In 2009, Jae Joong, along with two other TVXQ! members, formed the group JYJ, achieving three consecutive No. 1 albums in South Korea, starting with “The Beginning” in 2010.

 

In addition to his music career, Jae Joong has made significant strides in acting. His major acting debut in the 2009 South Korean TV film “Heaven’s Postman” earned him critical acclaim and led to several award-winning roles in both South Korean and Japanese productions.

Jae Joong’s first solo EP, “Mine,” released in 2013, topped the South Korean albums chart and reached the Top 10 in Japan. His 2019 album, “Love Covers,” was his third consecutive chart-topping album in Japan and was named one of the three best Asian albums of the year by the Japan Gold Disc Awards.
