Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s new show ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” premiered on Netflix today, and audiences are enamored with the story and production of the 8-part series. The series stars Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Sharmin Segal in lead roles as the women of Heeramandi, and follows the love story between Segal and Taha Shah Badussha’s characters Alamzeb and Tajdar.
Badussha brings charm to the character of Tajdar, a young and modern Nawab who gets embroiled within the pre-independence movement, while also falling head over heels for Alamzeb. There are several times during the series that Badussha’s portrayal of Tajdar makes you feel for his character, and you’re hoping that his efforts for his country and love are met with success. Badussha brings a layer of nuance to his character and Tajdar evokes support from the audience as their rooting for him.
