Short film ‘Eid Mubarak’ is winning awards at multiple film award ceremonies, and director Mahnoor Euceph spoke with us about the creation behind the story, and what the success of the film means to her.
For Euceph, it was important to show a heartwarming and authentic Muslim story in Western media, because she saw that those stories were lacking, especially for first-generation South Asians growing up in the U.S.
Executive producer Rohi Pandya also spoke about the value behind producing short films like ‘Eid Mubarak’, and what that meant for her as a Pakistani Muslim American in the entertainment industry.
‘Eid Mubarak’ is shortlisted for an Oscars vote during this year’s ceremony, and has won several awards already, including the Jury Award for Live Action Short at the New York International Children’s Film Festival.
