Sangay Tsheltrim is popular in India as an actor and he is no less than a national hero in his country Bhutan. Sangay is an ex-Army officer, professional bodybuilder, and a popular actor. He is an inspiration for people who believe in making their passion into a successful career. Sangay was recently seen in the film Jawan playing the role of a cop named Juju. His acting skills not only made him popular in his country but also a well-known name in India.

Sangay talks about his dedication towards becoming an Army officer and switching from the role. He said, “It was a challenging but also an amazing experience. When I look back to my childhood days, I loved watching Bollywood movies. I was always interested in dancing and acting but at the same time, my ambition was to become an army officer and serve my nation. So when I joined the army, I gave a hundred per cent to my training and after I passed, I got an appointment certificate and as an Army officer, I served in the Royal Bhutan Army as a bodyguard to protect my king and the members of the royal family, which is the highest honour job in Bhutan”.

The Jawan and Radhe actor is a huge fan of Bollywood but his love for legendary bodybuilder and actor ‘Arnold Schwarzenegger’ is no secret. He mentioned switching to a new career and said, “I was interested in bodybuilding, I’m a big fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger so I wanted to compete and get a medal for my country because of this I had to resign from the role of Royal bodyguard and pursue my career in bodybuilding”. The actor is a gold medalist in Bodybuilding. He shared his sporting history and the success that came with it and said, “I got my first Asian gold medal in 2015 for my country, I’m the first one to get an Asian gold medal in any sporting history of Bhutan”. However, the actor’s sporting career was short-lived and he had to stop professional bodybuilding and competitive bodybuilding events.
It was in 2017 when his friends boosted his confidence and motivated him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He said, “My friends told me that I have got talent, I can dance, I looked intimidating and I had a good physique so they asked me why not I act. So I produced my own movie in Bhutan in 2018. It became a big action blockbuster in the history of Bhutanese cinema. Then in 2019, I got the best debut actor”. It was the same year when Sangay’s stars were aligned and he met the megastar Salman Khan and the rest is history. He is two movies old in the industry and will soon be seen in another big banner film that he cannot reveal at the moment.
