South Asian-inspired fashion house RAAS debuts their newest collection EZORA as the Headliner for the 2nd annual South Asian New York Fashion Week with Richa Moorjani as their showstopper. Held at the beautiful Chelsea Square in the heart of New York City on September 10th, RAAS unveiled EZORA: The United Blend. The collection showcased the timeless allure of two distinct cultures intertwined to create a collection that transcends boundaries and celebrates the harmonious fusion of the Western Silhouettes and the Art of Gujarat, India.
Actress Richa Moorjani, best known for her role as Kamala in the series Never Have I Ever, walked the runway in RAAS’s 3-piece Lehenga (a top, skirt, and scarf) crafted from premium gaji silk and adorned with mirror embroidery and ajrakh print. Richa’s lehenga was made from vegan silk and hand embroidered.
“I’m honored to partner with a brand that’s aligned with my values of uplifting
Indian craftsmanship and their dedication to sustainability and ethical fashion,”
says actor Richa Moorjani on her collaboration with RAAS.
RAAS showcased 26 flowing silhouettes with intricate patterns that pay homage to the artistry of Gujarat. Styles ranging from modern dresses and 2-piece co-cord sets to traditional lehengas in the EZORA collection told a story of collaboration and cross-cultural inspiration with bold colors, delicate embroidery, and modern designs.
Shreya Patel, the creative director, and founder of RAAS, launched the brand in 2018 with a mission to employ artisans in her design house that will embrace ethical practices and manufacturing. As an ethically responsible fashion brand, Patel ensures all employees also receive fair wages.
The Ezora collection is about crafting experiences, telling stories, and leaving a lasting impression. At RAAS, we believe in weaving emotion into every design, making every moment unforgettable and that’s what it was like for us to unveil this collection at South Asian New York Fashion Week” – Shreya Patel, RAAS Designer
