Ishita Dutta is mourning the loss of her pet, Happy, a 15-year-old Shih Tzu who passed away recently on June 29. The actress posted her picture with her dog on social media with a broken heart emoji. Many of her friends and followers knew how close she was to her pet and could understand her sadness.
Sharing about her bond with her pet with one of the leading publication, Ishita says, “Since I came to Mumbai 15 years back, I have had Happy with me. He was very loving towards me and my parents. My parents left their city (Jamshedpur) and shifted with me for my acting career. At first, my mother wasn’t really excited about me bringing home a dog. But within two weeks, Happy won her heart. More than me, my parents are sad and upset after he left us. I at least get busy with work and shootings but for my parents, he was their source of entertainment and love.”
Ishita says that her dog was closest to her dad. “Even though I got Happy home, he was closest to my father. He loved going out for walks with him and sitting with him. When he wasn’t feeling good, we took him to a vet and while returning from there, Happy died in my father’s lap who was his favorite person. He lived a full life. But when people ask me if I will get another dog home, I say that i just want my Happy back and no one else.”
The ‘Drishyam’ actress says, “I don’t even go to those corners and places in the house where Happy used to sit. When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is go to the place he used to sit and then I realize that he is no more. It is very tough for me to get over him, but I hope that wherever he is, he is happy.”
