Birthday Special: 5 Best Comedy Films Of Riteish Deshmukh That We All Love

Riteish Deshmukh is one of the most remarkable actors in the Bollywood Industry.

He made his acting debut in the 2003 romantic film, Tujhe Meri Kasam opposite Genelia D’Souza. And now, Genelia has become his better half – his love forever.

Although his first two films – Tujhe Meri Kasam and Out of Control – didn’t fare well, Deshmukh struck it big with his third, Indra Kumar’s 2004 multi-starrer Masti, a comedy-­thriller that earned him three awards and the tag of Bollywood’s most-promising comic talent.

Soon after this his comedy carrier took a hype and on this special day lets have a look at some of his best comedy film that we all love:

Kyaa Kool Hai Hum Series (Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Kyaa Super Cool Hai Hum & Kyaa Kool Hai Hum 3)

While Deshmukh’s role in Masti earned him several nominations and awards, his first successful lead role didn’t come until a year later in the adult comedy Kyaa Kool Hain Hum. Alongside Tusshar Kapoor, he delivered a performance that earned him praise from critics who slammed the film as a whole. The film achieved only average success at the box office, but the popularity of Deshmukh’s character spawned the 2012 sequel Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum.

Deshmukh won accolades for his ­hilarious role in this comedy, as a con man from Goa whose use of disguises is his go-to trick almost all the time. He also played the opposite sex for the first time in this film and it was loved by the fans. His on-screen presence as Sapna was magical.

Housefull Series – (1, 2, 3 & 4)

In 2010, Deshmukh appeared on screen with Bollywood bigwigs Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone in Sajid Khan’s Housefull. The film also starred Lara Dutta, Arjun Rampal and Jiah Khan. He was loved by the audiences in this madcap comedy. Housefull 2, which released in 2012, was also a huge success and is said to be Deshmukh’s biggest commercial success to date. He was also part of Housefull 3 and the recently released Housefull 4.

Dhamaal Series – (Dhamaal, Double Dhamaal & Total Dhamaal)

A sequel to 2007’s Dhamaal was Double Dhamaal and then came the third installment -Total Dhamal, and Riteish created magic in all three. No matter all three were multi-starrers but his performance got praised by the critics and loved by the audience. Also, just like many of Deshmukh’s previous films, it earned twice its budget at the box office and he also won Riteish an award at IIFA for Best Performance in a Comic Role.

Masti Series – (Masti, Grand Masti & Great Grand Masti)

Deshmukh’s success in the 2004’s Masti led to the sequel Grand Masti and then in the year 2016 came the third part Great Grand Masti. In all three films, he not only showcased the comic timing but also proved that he is constant when it comes to all types of comedies.
