After giving a stellar performance in Gully Boy, Alia Bhatt is all set to amaze us in the coming year with a load of films. Among her many projects is the Sanjay Leela Bhansali next Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The film will hit screens on September 11, 2020. Reportedly, the story of the film is all about Gangubai, who was pushed into prostitution at an early age. She had numerous ferocious gangsters as her client. She is remembered as ‘The Madam of Kamathipura’ in history.
Now we hear something interesting. According to reports, the film may also feature Deepika Padukone and Rabir Kapoor. While talking to a leading entertainment portal, a source informs,
“Bhansali has reached out to Deepika Padukone to play an interesting cameo in Gangubai but nothing has been finalised as yet. The team has also reached out to Ranbir Kapoor and are in talks but there has been no confirmation on the same from his end too.”
Earlier, it was confirmed that Ajay Devgn will be playing an important role in the movie.
Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi goes on floors next year. A huge set for the same is being built in Film City, Goregaon. Bhansali is doing his all to make it his biggest hit.
Sanajy Leela Bhansali was initially supposed to direct Inshallah starring Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt as the lead couple. But things went astray and both Salman and Bhansali announced that the movie has been infinitely delayed.
On the work front, besides Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt will also star in Takht, Sadak 2, Brahmastra and RRR. Takht also stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar. Sadak 2 also features a stellar cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. Brahmastra features Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Mouni Roy and others. RRR is a S. S. Rajamouli film starring N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn.
