After the mindblowing success of Uri – The Surgical Strike, producer Ronnie Screwvala, director Aditya Dhar and actor Vicky Kaushal are reuniting once again. The trio will return with an action entertainer titled The Immortal Ashwatthama. The film will be a superhero flick and the director has already begun the prep for it.
The film will be shot all over India and abroad. The makers are targeting a mid-2020 filming schedule and have already begun the prep for it.
Aditya Dhar has been in the US for the last five months working on the film’s script and meeting VFX studios there. He revealed that the film will begin production in mid-2020. Speaking to a leading daily he said,
“Soft prep began two months ago while formal prep will start in a fortnight. We will shoot the entire film in a start-to-finish schedule and have shortlisted Greenland, Tokyo, New Zealand, and Namibia as locations. I will be collaborating with teams from all over the world on the action. The entire post-production, including the VFX, will be done in the US.”
Talking about the film, Aditya Dhar had narrated the story to Vicky Kaushal and Ronnie Screwvala around the release of Uri – The Surgical Strike. He said that Ashwatthama was one of the powerful and mysterious characters from Mahabharata. He was egoistic and arrogant because he was immortal. Aditya said that unlike Arjuna and Karna, not much has been written about Ashwatthama in various versions of Mahabharata. He was not perfect and that is what he loves about the character.
Aditya Dhar also revealed that he has carefully planned Vicky Kaushal‘s appearance for the film. He said that it will involve the actor gaining and losing a lot of weight throughout the film. Aditya also stated that Vicky’s appearance for the film would come across as a surprise for fans.
