Akshay Kumar And Priyadarshan To Work Together After 9 Years

Do you remember Priyadarshan’s hit film Hera Pheri starring Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Tabu? Well, thanks to this movie Akshay’s image as the all-out fighter in films got a makeover. This hit jodi is all set to reunite for a comedy soon.

The duo first collaborated for the super hit multi starrer Hera Pheri (2000). An out-and-out comedy, this film has gained cult status over the years. Their second offering together was Garam Masala co-starring John Abraham, which also turned out to be an instant hit at the box- office.

Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan collaborated on many successful comedies such as Bhagam Bhag (2006), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) and De Dana Dan (2009). Their last collaboration together was in 2010 with the film Khatta Meetha.

Now almost a decade later, they are all set to work again. Priyadarshan confirmed that he will be working with Akshay Kumar once again. The filmmaker also said that he is still working on the script. During the sidelines of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), the director told PTI in Goa,

“It is a comedy. I’m currently writing it and will start working on it next year around September-October,”

The filmmaker went on to add that Akshay Kumar completely trusts him with his movies and that he is glad that they are working together again.

On the work front, Akshay Kumar is a part of multiple projects – some of which he has already shot. The actor is currently busy promoting his next Good Newwz co-starring Diljit Dosanjh, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kiara Advani. He is also part of Laxmmi Bomb, Bachchan Pandey and Sooryavanshi. Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi co-stars Katrina Kaif. The actor also announced Prithviraj, a Chandraprakash Dwivedi film that will release on Diwali 2020.
