Prassthanam is the political drama starring Sanjay Dutt. It is the Hindi remake of the 2010 Telugu film by the same name. A remake of the south hit film by the same name. The movie has been in news since the launch of its first look. With an exceptional star-cast, the film is the story about power, greed, love and human fallacies. Set in a contemporary political family, Prassthanam deals with complex questions on dharma, morality, desire, right and wrong.
Speaking about the film, Munna Bhai MBBS actor recently revealed why he decided to produce the film. He said,
“We decided to back Prassthanam because it’s a great film that provides entertainment. We chose politics as the backdrop as we wanted to target the heartland of the country.”
Prassthanam will also see the trio of Jackie Shroff, Manisha Koirala and Sanjay Dutt together on-screen again. The three actors have earlier worked together in Kartoos. They collaborated after 20 years for Prassthanam.
Speaking about the same, Jackie said,
“There was a free flow of energy because, for us, it was like picking up from where we had left off. Even though the industry is a small world sometimes it takes years for friends to meet and working together takes even longer.’’
Manisha Koirala who knows Dutt since more than two decades recently revealed the bond she shared with the actor. She said,
“I became a big fan of Baba after watching Rocky and even had his posters up in my room. It was a fan-girl moment when I first worked with him, but over the years we have become good have seen him go through his ups and downs in life, and whenever I have a problem, I just have to tell him. A few days later, he will call to ask, ‘Manya, sab theek ho gaya na?’ We are very comfortable with each other now.”
She continued:
“Maanayata Ji (Sanjay’s wife) is producing the film, and I can’t say ‘no’ to Baba and her.”
On the work front, besides Prassthanam Sanjay Dutt also has Panipat, Sadak 2, Shamshera, KGF, Bhuj: The Pride Of India in his kitty.
Directed by Deva Katta, Sanjay S. Dutt’s presents, produced by Maanayata Dutt, Prassthanam stars Sanjay S Dutt, Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Panday, Ali Fazal, Amyra Dastur & Satyajeet Dubey. The film releases on 20th September 2019.
