Being a dad is difficult, no doubt, but playing the role of a dad in a movie is also a very difficult and negative role as a father is even tougher.

Tomorrow, on the occasion of Father’s Day, we take a look at some of the best negative father characters that we have witnessed in Bollywood.

Ranjit Rai and Harbans Lal – Ishq (1997)

In the movie, Ranjith and Harbans Rai are shown as evil money magnates who are basically classist pigs that are taught a lesson in socialism by their kids. Till the very end, the two characters are seen abusing the ‘poor’ and the two are never actually faced with the gravity or magnanimity of their crimes.

Baldev Singh – Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)

We just cannot forget this powerful character of a strict, disciplinarian father who was ready to maintain the reputation of him as the ‘Man of His Own Words. Even if it meant sacrificing the happiness of his own daughter.

Yashvardhan “Yash” Raichand – Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… (2001)

He disowned his elder son only because he married a girl of his choice, but didn’t belong to their community. Also, he did not even try to get in touch with his son for 10 years until his younger son tried to bring them together.

Farookh Malik – Secret Superstar (2017)

Unnecessary domestic violence was his forte. Instead of supporting his daughter’s passion for music, he broke her guitar and left her dreams scattered on the floor.

Chaudhary – Heropanti (2014)

What can be worse than a father running after the life of his own daughter and son in law? He was even ready to kill his daughter if he found out that she ran with a boy she loved out of her own will.

Aftab – Gully Boy (2019)

He was shown as an abusive father who brings home a much younger second wife. This leads to humiliation for his family and is always against his son’s passion for music. He provokes his son and wife to leave the house as his violence towards them escalates.

No matter how strict our dad is, he always has a soft side which makes him the best human being in our lives. If your dad is no one like the above characters, you’re in the best hands. Give him the best day of his life.

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there.
