Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83 has been creating a lot of buzz ever since it was announced, and now, with Sajid Nadiadwala coming on board to co-produce ‘83 along with Madhu Mantena and Reliance Entertainment, the team is optimistic that the film’s horizon has just got broader.
Talking about the development, Sajid said:
“All four scripts, including 83, are excellent. As a producer, one has to commit to the material on hand, more than anything else. Coming on board for the sports biopic gives me a feeling of personal joy because I witnessed that glorious and historical moment of India’s 1983 World Cup win on television. But then again, it’s the script of this film that has blown my mind. There are certain projects that have an aura around them. 83 is one of those movies.”
Welcoming the co-producer on board, Madhu expressed:
“Sajid Nadiadwala is one of the most valuable anchors these films can get. He has an astute understanding of content and business and is completely hands-on as a producer. We will immensely benefit from this partnership.”
‘83 (2020) which also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk, Saqib Saleem, among others, is a trilingual which is being shot in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The sports film is due to be released on 10 April 2020.
