Shweta Subram Sizzles On Stage In Saudi Arabia!

If there is one thing we can all agree on, it is that music connects us all.  The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recently produced an event that confirms that point.  To introduce more diverse experiences to its population, the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia produced the first ever Bollywood Music Festival.  The 3-day festival was held from March 28 to 30, 2019 at the Al Khobar Corniche in the city of Dammam.  It featured dynamic singers like Shaan, Shweta Subram, and Jonita Gandhi.  The show marked a series of firsts as the three singers became the first Bollywood artists to perform for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia!

Shaan-Shweta Subram

Kicking off the event on opening night (March 28) was the versatile Indo-Canadian Bollywood singer, Shweta Subram, alongside Bollywood’s melody king, Shaan.  The duo took the audience on a journey of Bollywood music in their unique style.  For example, Shweta mesmerized the audience of 15,000 with popular hits like Mere Rashqe Qamar to classics such as Aao Na Gale Lagao Na.  Her duets with Shaan included retro R.D Burman numbers and also featured hits from movies like Partner, Dil Chahta Hai, and Kal Ho Na Ho. The audience kept asking for more as they were left spellbound by this dynamic duo.  It truly was a beautiful night filled with the magic of Bollywood music!

Speaking about her experience, Shweta shared,

“It was an absolute honor to represent Bollywood in a country that has never seen anything like this before. I truly enjoyed sharing the stage with the legendary Shaan, whose songs I have been humming ever since I was a kid. The warmth and love from the audience here was extremely gratifying. I’m still getting messages on my social media from attendees who traveled from all over the country. Thank you Saudi Arabia!”

Partnering with the General Entertainment Authority on this landmark event is Dubai-based The Totem Spot FZE, who managed artist bookings and associated logistics.

We congratulate all the artists on representing Indian culture at this fantastic festival!
