Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra: I Got The Best Compliment For Music From Meghna Gulzar

Today was the trailer launch of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mere Pyaare Prime Minister. The trailer will make you go aww for sure.

At the trailer launch, Rakeysh Ompraksh Mehra spoke about working with Gulzar Saab and the kids in the film.

 

Speaking about working with Gulzar Saab, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra said:

 

“I have worked with Gulzar in many of my films before. But the best compliment for music I got was from Meghna Gulzar. She said he (Gulzar Saab) gives you the best songs always (laughs).

I have worked with him in Raazi but Mere Pyaare Prime Minister has much better songs. And (after) saying that she just left the room. (laughs)”

 

Having worked with kids for the first time, the director said:

 

“These kids have removed work from me. They made me work hard. I never told them how to do. They did on their own. Only when anyone used to go out of character, I used to whistle like a coach. But I didn’t have to teach them much. In fact, I got to learn from them.”

 

When asked about with whom was it difficult to work with till now – the kids or Aamir Khan in Rang De Basanti or Farhan Akhtar in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, the director said:

 

“Anjali Patil (laughs).”
