The trailer of Cold Pursuit has Liam Neeson in his old avatar –“murder everyone” but this may be the director- Hans Petter Moland ploy to bring you to cinema halls.
Nels Coxman (Liam Neeson) is a family man whose quiet life with his wife (Laura Dern) is upended following the mysterious death of their son. Nels’ search for justice turns into a vengeful hunt for Viking (Tom Bateman), a drug lord he believes is connected to the death. As one by one each of Viking’s associates “disappear,” Nels goes from upstanding citizen to ice-cold vigilante, letting nothing – and no one – get in his way.
The trailer liberates fumes of Taken while the movie drifts on its “cold pursuit” to entertain and thrill audience on Coen Brother’s Fargo street and Guy Ritchie’s Snatch lane and this is where Cold Pursuit loses its control and crashes.
Director Hans Petter Moland lets the movie become draggy and boring at times.
Liam Neeson and Tom Bateman are as usual brilliant in their roles.
We give Cold Pursuit 2.5 stars.
