Bachchan has won numerous accolades in his career, including four National Film Awards as Best Actor. Besides being the amazing actor he is, he is also a wonderful singer. The irony is that once upon a time this superstar was rejected by many directors/production houses on account of not having a strong voice. But over the course of time, he proved his talent and has given us some amazing songs rendered in his own voice.

Today on the occasion of his 50th year in Bollywood we bring you some amazing songs Amitabh Bachchan has crooned:

Mere Angane Mein – Laawaris (1981)

We loved the song then and we love it even today. The song sung by Amitji had a very strong message that no one is lesser than another because even their shortcomings have a plus point.

Rang Barse – Silsila (1981)

When we say Holi, the first thing that comes to mind is Amitabh Bachchan’s Rang Barse from Silsila and rightly so. We can say that this is a definite favourite for the Holi.

Main Yahan Tu Wahan – Baghban (2003)

This sad melody crooned by the megastar tugs your heart and makes you feel the heartbreak and longing the couple feel for each other when they are separated. Trust me your eyes will moist after hearing it.

Hori Khele Raghuveera – Baghban (2003)

Another Holi song by the amazing actor/single without which the festival is not complete. The masti-maza with the essence of traditions was beautifully brought out with Senior Bachchan’s amazing voice.

Mere Buddy – Bhoothnath (2008)

In this kids film, the Zanjeer actor shared screen space with kiddie and this song which he crooned went very well with the movie’s theme and essence.

Chalo Jaane Do – Bhoothnath (2008)

When your loved one is sad and angry (because of you), you will go to any length to put a smile on their face again. Amitji didn’t only put a smile on Banku’s face with this emotional track, but on ours as well.

Ekla Cholo Re – Kahaani (2012)

Amitabh Bachchan paid tribute to the writing of Rabindranath Tagore through this song from the Vidya Balan starrer. We love it when he sings in any language.

Atrangi Yaari – WAZIR (2016)

This song was incorporated in the film to signify the friendship between the two lead characters, played by Amitji and Farhan Akhtar. The two sung the songs in their own melodious voices thus making it the cherry on the cake.

Ganpati Aarti – Sarkar 3 (2017)

In the third installment of this political drama, the ‘sarkar’ sang the Ganesha Aarti while doing Lord Ganesha’s pooja before virsajan.

Badumbaaa – Zumba Zumba – 102 Not Out (2018)

He may have played a 102 year old father in this film but his heart was that of a kid. This song beautifully depicted the feel of the movie and got us all grooving when we heard it.
