Alita: Battle Angel is an epic adventure in a dystopian universe. When Alita (Rosa Salazar) awakens with no memory of who she is in 2563 AD, she is taken in by Dyson Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate doctor who found Alita in a scrapyard. Slowly Alita learns about her past as she fights for the survival of hers and others.
The story of Alita: Battle Angel is beaten to death just like Alita beats her enemies to death and that is what movie is all about. Alita has no memory of her past when she is recuperated by Dr. Ido and from there the movie has that same old storyline as we find out more about Alita as she finds more things about herself. The movie is one of the best visually pleasing movies with action sequences so well choreographed that you might find yourself trying to imitate some of Alita’s fighting moves in front of a mirror. The CGI will give you goosebumps at times. The highlight of the movie is the Motorball sequences which are a futuristic version of quidditch.
Christopher Waltz is brilliant as usual. Rosa Salazar who plays Alita has to do most of the weight-lifting here and she lifts this CGI-filled flick with her performance and she looks fierce in her action sequences too. Maharshala Ali who is having a purple patch also shines in his role. Robert Rodriguez who earlier directed Spy Kids and Sin City is director of Alita and he makes sure that the story never seems draggy and is visually appealing. The background sound makes the experience very gripping and immersive.
We recommend you to watch in it in 3D for that immersive experience.
