The year 2018 started with the launch of a band of new & fresh shows on every channel. With the already ongoing popular old shows, the new shows were heartily received & accepted by the audience. Shows like Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala, Naagin 3, Nazar, Yeh Teri Galiyan, Ishq Subhan Allah, Kasauti Zindagi Kay, Kaleerein etc are some of the shows that went on air in 2018.

1. Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala
The story revolves around the sweet & melodious Kullfi, who lost her mother Nimrat in an unfortunate accident & she eventually sets out on a journey to find out her estranged father, Sikander Singh Gill. In her journey, she goes through many trials & tribulations put forward by the antagonists. Though Sikander is not aware that Kullfi is his daughter, he dearly loves her. The musical drama show went on air on Star Plus in March 2018. The characters of Kullfi & Sikander are played by the talented actors, Aakriti Sharma & Mohit Malik respectively. The show managed to gain popularity in a very short span of time. The writers know how to strike the right chord & made us fall in love with the adorable father-daughter duo! Recently, Kullfi Kumaarr Bajewala bagged several awards at Indian Television Academy Awards (ITA) 2018,one of them being the “Best Show”.
- Kasauti Zindagi Kay
Kasauti Zindagi Kay is a reboot to the cult show Kasauti Zindagi Kay (2001). The story revolves around Anurag Basu & Prerna Sharma, two completely opposite personalities falling in love but fate has something else stored in for them. The show also has the most loved antagonist character of television, Kamolika (previously played by Urvashi Dholakia) played by the beautiful Hina Khan. The characters of Anurag & Prerna are played by Parth Samthaan & Erica Fernadez respectively. The show was extensively promoted before it was aired on Star Plus in September 2018. The leads are much loved by the audience!
- Bepannah
This romantic mystery revolved around Aditya Hooda & Zoya Siddique, whose respective spouses Pooja & Yash cheat on them & end up dying in a mysterious accident. Though Aditya is shattered after Pooja’s betrayal, Zoya doesn’t buys into the fact that her husband Yash could cheat her, but eventually gets to know the reality & accepts it. She decides to start afresh, where both Aditya & Zoya first became friends eventually fall in love with each other. The characters of Yash, Pooja, Aditya & Zoya were portrayed by the talented actors, Sehban Azim, Namita Dubey, Harshad Chopda, & Jennifer Winget respectively. The show went on air on Colors TV in March 2018. The fans love the onscreen & offscreen camaraderie of Harshad Chopda & Jennifer Winget. They even have a ship name dedicated to them known as “JenShad”.
- Yeh Teri Galiyan
This romantic series revolves around Shantanu & Pucchki. Both of them are bought up in Kolkata’s biggest brothel house, Sona Gachi, where they became each others best friends in their childhood years, but Shantanu is officially adopted by a a rich family, leading to both of them separating. When they grow up into adults, Shantanu still couldn’t leave the stigma around being illegitimate behind, & is treated inferior to his younger brother Rhridoy, who is the biological son of the Maheshwaris. Whereas Pucchki has changed her name to Asmita & she is now an IPS officer who is undercover, & nobody knows about her childhood. The show went on air on ZEE TV in July 2018. The lead characters of Shantanu & Pucchki are potrayed by the talented young actors, Avinash Mishra & Vrushika Mehta. The show is much loved by the audience because of the lead pair’s crackling chemistry.
- Ishq Subhan Allah
This story revolves around Kabeer Ahmad & Zara Siddique, two people who have different perspectives on Islam. Where, Kabeer has a more traditional perspective about Islam, Zara has more of a modern perspective about it. Due to certain circumstances, Zara & Kabeer end up getting married, where initially their perspectives clash with each other, but they end up falling for each other. The show also discusses the different perspectives of Triple Talaaq. The show went on air on Zee TV in March 2018. The lead characters of Kabeer & Zara are played by Adnaan Khan & Eisha Singh respectively! The onscreen couple is loved by the audience for their cute chemistry!
