5 Old Bollywood Songs that Have Been Made To Suit Today’s Taste

Old is gold and Bollywood takes that seriously. That’s a reason why we see a senior actor making cameos and special appearances in movies today. Not only that many old films but the songs that were part of them too are being rehashed for today’s movies.

The songs are being reworked in such ways that they include some good dance beats and are something today’s generation are totally cool with.

1. Cheez Badi Hai Mast

This original song featured Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon in the 1994 action thriller Mohra. The song was crooned by Udit Narayan and Kavita Krishnamurthy with music by Viju Shah and lyrics written by Anand Bakshi.

The recreated version featured in the 2017 romantic thriller Machine starring Mustafa & Kiara Advani. This version was sung by Udit Narayan with Neha Kakkar lending her voice for the female parts.

2. Pallu Latke

The song first appeared in the 1979 comedy film Nauker starring Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya Bachchan. The sweet song was sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle with music by the music master R.D.Burman.

The reprised version from the 2017 film Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana featuring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda made this sweet song totally apt to suit this time with its sexy dance moves and LED pallus. This one was sung by Jyotica Tangri and Yasser Desai with a rap by Fazilpuria. The music was by Raees & Zain Sam with lyrics from Kumaar.

3. Rafta Rafta

Rafta Rafta from Kahani Kismat Ki (1973) saw Dharmendra declaring his love for Rekha to the world. The music directors of the song were Kalyanji and Anandji.

The was reprised for the third installment of YPD – Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se. The songs saw the like of Dharmendra, Shatrughan Sinha, Rekha, Sunny Deol, Salman Khan, Bobby Deol and Sonakshi Sinha in it. This version is a totally upbeat song crooned by Rekha, Sonakshi Sinha, Vishal Mishra, Jordi Patel, Disha Sharma and Akash Ojha. The music is by Vishal Mishra.

4. Ek Do Teen

When we hear the song Ek Do Teen, we just imagine the beautiful Madhuri Dixit dancing while tell a room full of drunk men about her love in the 1988 action romantic – Tezaab co-starring Anil Kapoor.

The song was recreated for the sequel of Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi 2. The expectations were pretty high for this song but sadly it failed to live up to the expectation of the audience even with Jacqueline Fernandez sizzling in it.

5. Humma Humma

Humma Humma was originally picturized on Manisha Koirala and Arvind Swamy in Mani Ratnam’s Bombay (1995) and was sung by A.R. Rahman, Suresh Peters and Swarnalatha.

A.R. Rahman recreated this song for Shaad Ali’s OK Jaanu starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. This version was sung by Badhshah, Jubin Nautiyal and Shashaa Tirupati.
