Known for making films like Shaitan, David, Wazir and many more, Director-writer Bejoy Nambiar is back to entertain the audience with an amazing short film Dobaara on ZEE5.

UrbanAsian got a chance to interview this talented director who spoke with us about his short film Dobaara and about what he feels about compromising life for love.
Read it out all here:
- How did you come up with the idea of making Dobaara?
It was a story that was with me for a while. I had written it as a feature. I wanted to do it in Malayalam a long time back, but when this opportunity came by I just pitched it to ZEE5 and they seemed to like the story, so that’s how it happened.
- Why a short film and not a movie?
Some stories are best told in a certain duration. This story also had a certain rhythm and a certain direction which would do justice to the story. I don’t call it a short film, I call it a medium format which is not a feature nor a short film, somewhere in the middle.
- How did the collaboration with ZEE5 happen?
There was a girl called Bhavya, who came to me with this proposal and when I heard the kind of people were involved in this, I was excited to be a part of it.
- How was it working with ZEE5?
Great! I was actually working with the ZEE crew, ZEE5 came later and they are very supportive. The best thing about them is that it is a very one of a kind thing that they are doing. Big Kudos to them. And I am glad I am a part of this.
- In the movie, it is shown that the characters are compromising their life for love. So do you believe in compromising life for love?
Not really! (Laughs) Personally if you ask me I don’t think so. Just because I make a film about it, it is not that I also advocate to it. (Laughs) Love has different shades. Lots of people have different take to it.
- How did you come up with the cast of the film?
These actors are those with whom I have worked before. When I was putting this together, I discussed with them and they were quite excited about the idea of the story.
- What’s next?
I am writing a couple of things, so let’s see.
