Divya Dutta: I am happy that I did Manto

Nandita Das’ Manto starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rasika Dugal has been getting rave reviews from the people who have seen the film and one of the most talked about the fact from the film is the guest appearances from many actors like Divya Dutta, Ranvir Shorey, Gurdaas Maan, Paresh Rawal, Javed Akhtar and Rishi Kapoor to name a few.

For Manto’s most controversial story titled Thanda Gosht, Nandita approached Divya Dutta knowing her caliber as an actress and Divya immediately agreed.

 

When asked about the role, Divya said:

“I had read Thanda Gosht hence knew the story but Nandita being the one behind the camera helped a great deal. I am happy that I did the film and contributed in small little way.”

 

Manto is slated to release in India on 21st September.
