With Sudhir Mishra’s Daas Dev, starring Richa Chadha, Rahul Bhat and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles releasing this Friday, UrbanAsian caught up with actor Vipin Sharma – who plays a significant role in the film – and asked him about his journey in the industry and more.
Read on to know all Vipin Sharma had to say
What made you say yes to the role?
I will never say no to some directors, and Sudhir Mishra is one of them.
The most difficult scene in the movie?
A supposedly intimate scene between me and one of the lead female actors. Can’t reveal much.
How has your journey been so far in this industry?
Extremely exciting so far. Within 8 years of me being back in the Industry has fortunately given me many opportunities to work with some of the best. I think I have been part of almost every important film made in the last decade in Hindi Cinema. Many of them have been National Award winners and Internationally very successful as well.
Dream project?
My dream project would be where I get to act as a female character. It is the ultimate challenge for a male actor. Being a man I can almost attempt to play any male role but to play a female would be beyond my imagination. I would love to do that one day.
What’s next?
Daas Dev releases on 20th of April. I am so eagerly awaiting for this film. I also did two incredibly powerful short films. One is with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and produced by Anurag Kashyap. The other one is produced by Shlok Sharma. Then there is a new feature film I just finished shooting for called Gonekesh, directed by a new filmmaker Qasim Khallow. It has me and Shweta Tripathi playing the lead roles.
