n an Interview, Miital reveals the struggles and her challenges.

Tell us a little bit about your childhood. Did you make a lot of facial expressions as a child too?
I was and I am still a funny, bubbly KID. I grew up in a small town in India. As a kid, I was good in studies but I was very active in sports and arts. I loved writing poems, painting, swimming, music, dancing, acting, making decorative articles at home. I still enjoy doing all of them. I always have felt that there is so much to learn in this world and I would never let go of any opportunity to learn something new.

Oh! Yes, I did! My mom always said to me, as a kid you used to make differently recognized faces for everything you wanted to say or do. And I always told her – “Mom that’s every kid- may be because I am your to I am special to you and that’s why you felt that.” – But later, when I discovered my talent I thought maybe she was right.

When did you realize you have a talent?
Well, As I grew up I kept exploring my interests. I was active in theatre and dance and classical dance also has a lot of expressions. I knew there was something in me since I remember people telling me sometimes what’s up with your face? I just thought at the time maybe I am overexpressing? But I wasn’t! When I look back I still remember- when I used to have the conversation with my inner self as most of us do in our life- I was still very expressive.

What was the first response from family?
Well, of course, they were happy and excited.

How did people around you reacted to this talent you have?
Honestly, I don’t remember they reacted because the people around me they just knew me and they knew that’s how I was always. Some of them say me- I am “larger than life” kind of character in terms of expressions.

Was it difficult to be recognized?

Yes and No. The journey has been great. With God’s grace, I achieve every goal that I set up for myself. If you have dedication – it must pay off and it will. Some people will like you for what you are and some won’t- and that’s okay. I am dearly grateful for everything that life has given me.

Have you played any trick on someone using your facial expressions?

No, not yet. Maybe someday!!

What was the funniest or serious comment you have ever received?
One of my favorites is – my Dad teases me sometimes with this beautiful Hindi song “EK Chehre pe Kai Chehre laga lete hai log”

What keeps you motivated?
The hunger of doing better, to keep improving – and to keep learning along the journey. If I say I am always positive- that will be wrong – I try to be but I am a human and actor (actors are overly sensitive in general). So, in situation when people think of “The Glass is half full and Half empty”- I go beyond that – I think – Well.., there is at least a GLASS!! I will fill it up with water or even better with my favorite Juice!!! 

What are you plans for next few years?
As an actor, I have set up my goals. There are couple of project under pipeline. Apart from projects that I do in NYC, I am also collaborating with Bollywood and Tollywood for few projects. I want to take more projects which give me a challenge and make me better actor and person. I love theater and I want to make sure even though I get busy on TV/Film projects I keep myself involve in theatre. I also want to do writing more actively which I do not get enough time for.
