We all love courtroom dramas. Let it be Sunny Deol’s iconic Tarikh pe tarikh scene from Damini or Amitabh Bachchan’s No means no from Pink. When the law is incorporated in cinema, we always tend to get some amazing films – let’s not forget Jolly LLB. Lawyers don’t only act serious in Bollywood but they also have a strong sense of humour.
This year Bollywood will see some fantastic actors taking the black coat and playing lawyers in powerful stories.
Richa will be seen playing a public prosecutor in the upcoming film Section 375: Marzi ya Jabardasti. The film is about the misuse of rape laws in India, using an ambiguous case as the background. It will be directed by Manish Gupta, produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak.
Akshaye Khanna will be as a lawyer alongside Richa Chadha, in Section 375: Marzi ya Jabardasti. While Richa Chadha plays the public prosecutor, Akshaye Khanna will take on the role of a high-flying defence lawyer.
Taapsee will be seen playing a lawyer and Rishi Kapoor’s daughter in law in Mulq. This Anubhav Sinha film will release in mid-2018 and also stars Ashutosh Rana and Neena Gupta.
Yami will be playing as a lawyer alongside Shahid Kapoor in Batti Gul Meter Chaalu. The film revolves around the discrepancies in electric billing in rural towns and small cities. This Shree Narayan Singh’s film will be releasing later this year.
The actor will be seen portraying one of India’s most prominent lawyers Ram Jethmalani in the lawyer’s biopic. The actor will be co-producing the film with his wife and Ronnie Screwala. It is their first production and the film is already in its scripting stage.
Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi
Both Arshad and Akshay have played lawyers in Jolly LLB and Jolly LLB 2. The two will be coming together to play lawyers in Jolly LLB 3. We cannot wait for Subhash Kapoor to create the clash of the Jollys.
