Ever since the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat, the film has been surrounded by controversies. Padmaavat, originally Padmavati, witnessed its sets being trashed, the director – SLB being hit and well as the star cast being threatened.
Post its clearance from the CBFC – where the film’s name was changed – the makers of this drama announced its release date as the 25th of January, the same day as Akshay Kumar social awareness movie, Padman.
With just a week left on the release date, the clash seemed inevitable. But here’s what happened just a while back.
A press conference was held at Akshay Kumar’s place, where Sanjay and Akshay addressed the media regarding the clash.
This is what Akshay said,
“We have done many movies together. He asked me if I could postpone the release date of Padman, I felt I should because we are a family.”
To which Sanjay Leela Bhansali replied:
I am grateful to him for shifting the date. He didn’t even take two minutes to push this date.
