Karan Mehra has been busy enjoying the joys of parenthood since his wife Nisha Rawal delivered a baby in June. However, the actor is back in action now. He has recently replaced actor Hiten Tejwani, who is locked up in the Bigg Boss 11 house, in a play called ‘I Love You Two’. He has also bagged another play and both are being produced by Sanjay Jha.
“I have done theatre before my show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. I was part of theatre in 2011 and have started with this play now,”
says Karan, who was last seen in the show ‘Khatmal-E-Ishque’.
Talking about the role, he says,
“It’s a fun character. The best part is that it’s comic in nature. Comedy is my new love.”
Ask him how it feels to be working with Sanjay Jha and he says,
“Sanjay Jha has produced many plays and is a well-known name in the theatre industry. This is my 2nd venture with him in just a month. I have been enjoying my association with him and his team.”
The actor has been part of films, television and theatre. Talking about the difference between the three platforms, Karan says,
“They are vividly different in their nature, right from the techniques I need to portray as an actor to the variety in audience. There are no retakes in theatre. TV works on a cut-throat deadline. Movies have their own beauty in the level of detailing and their larger than life projection. As an actor, I feel fortunate to be able to explore all these platforms.”
