Bollywood is known for making remakes from Hollywood as well as Tollywood. Bollywood is all set to make the remake of the Hollywood movie, The Girl On The Train. The original, which was not a huge success, is an adaptation of a best-selling novel by the same name, written by Paula Hawkins.
And guess which actress is roped in to play the lead?
Well, it is Jacqueline Fernandez.
This news was confirmed by Ribhu to Mumbai Mirror. The director has been working on the script for the past few months, and it was only recently that he got Jacqueline on board the project.
Speaking to the paper about the adaptation, the director said:
“I have just finished the script. Jackie has come on board as the protagonist. While the novel had an ensemble cast, our film will revolve around her character. I have been looking forward to working with her, and this seemed like a perfect project to collaborate. You get together to make a film when people think alike in many ways, and when I had met her, I discovered we were on the same page.”
According to sources:
“The film will be set in a small town but the makers are yet to figure whether they will be filming in India or abroad. Ribhu and his team will begin their recce soon and will start prepping up with Jacqueline by the year-end.”
Jackie will be seen playing the role of Emily Blunt in the remake. The original movie is about how an alcoholic divorcee, used to get fascinated by a couple staying in a house near the railway track as she commutes back home. She is drawn to their lives especially when the wife goes missing, and the husband ends up being the main suspect.
It would be quite interesting to see Jacqueline play this role. Good luck to you, girl!
