Half Step Rock, an independent record label based out of Bangalore, has this month signed-up the legendary Indian Rock Band PHYNYX, who will now, going forward, perform under a new band name ‘LEN’, with the band’s first mega album set for an international launch in April of 2018 titled ‘PHYNYX RISING’. The album will feature 10 tracks including a reworked version of the famous single ‘Woman’ from Rock Street Journal’s ‘The Great Indian Rock Vol. 2 (1997).’
Under this contract, Half Step Rock will hold exclusive worldwide rights for distribution and brand management.
The band’s Frontman Len Gangte said:
“We have survived and matured in an industry not equipped to promote independent artists and rock music as a genre, but giving up was never an option! With an independent record label like Half Step Rock augmenting our strengths and aligning so intricately with our vision, the challenge finally seems realistically addressable now.”
Also speaking on the occasion, Ajay Chanam – a singer songwriter and Founder Half Step Rock added:
“This is going to be our label’s first international launch and a fire-baptism of sorts for us. We will leave no stone unturned in giving the album a fighting chance and are currently scouting to partner with the most suitable regional record labels, artist booking agencies, music channels and record distribution companies in these other countries where we plan launching the band. All these players need to perform in harmony and their coordination of critical essence.”
