Regional cinema is in no way less than Bollywood now. With an ever growing number of fans and well as actors, Bhojpuri cinema is a thriving industry. This was evident from the recent International Bhojpuri Film Awards held in London, which was attended by actor Shweta Rohira.
The actor, who is Salman Khan’s rakhi sister, has connection with the regional industry and many of her friends are part of Bhojpuri cinema.
“My friends are part of this cinema and thanks to them, I know so much about it. Madhu Sharma, who won the best actress award for ‘Khiladi’, is a very close friend and is almost like family,” she says.
Talking about her experience at the awards, Shweta says that it was fabulous.
“It was an amazing experience and seeing regional cinema grow makes me immensely happy,” she says.
Ask her if she will plans to act in Bhojpuri films and she says,
“I don’t know, haven’t thought about it but then again I am doing many things that I never thought, so let’s take it one day at a time.”
The award ceremony was also special as it gave Shweta the chance to explore London.
“It’s my first visit and first times are always special. I really loved London and will come back soon,” she says.
