The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2017 which kicked off on 10th of August with great fanfare celebrating ‘Diversity’ as its theme this year, came to an end after two weeks of celebrations and fun.
The festival kick started with Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’, as the opening film and closed with the romance drama – ‘Shab’. ‘Shab’ stars actress Raveena Tandon and newcomer Ashish Bisht along with Sanjay Suri, Simon Frenay and others. ‘Shab’ was directed by seasoned director Onir and was produced by Sanjay Suri and Onir.
The film earned rave reviews globally and Raveena Tandon’s performance was lauded by the audience. ‘Shab’ is a story about broken people on the lookout for a real connection that can lead to happiness. But they look for it in the wrong places. The screening of the film ‘Shab’ was attended by Raveena Tandon, Onir, Mitu Bhowmick Lange founder and curator of Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2017 and other dignitaries.
