After a stellar debut in Betaab, Amrita Singh had a string of hit movies to her credit when she took a break from films to raise a family.
The actress struggled to get back to her feet after a long break and it was none other than Ekta Kapoor who gave her this new lease of life.
Sources close to Amrita felt that Ekta Kapoor’s new venture Kedarnath would be the most befitting debut vehicle for her daughter Sara Ali Khan.
A source confirmed:
“It was a known fact that Amrita Singh’s career was spiralling downward and Ekta played a strong role in reviving her career by offering her Kavyanjali. Amrita, therefore, felt like it’s a safety net for Sara to be launched in Ekta’s ‘Kedarnath’.
The film that is going to go on floors by the end of the month has Sushant Singh Rajput playing the male lead opposite Sara.
