‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ is finally all set to release on 21st July 2017, not only Bollywood but women across the country have huge expectation from the film.
Needless to say, CBFC ‘s attempt to wave the sanskari flag everytime a film uses creative freedom hurts open minded youth’s expectations . Women across the country found their hopes shattered after Pahlaj Nihalani’s CBFC board denied a certificate to the film. The film in question was Alankrita Shrivastava’s ‘Lipstick Under my Burkha’.
While the makers kept on fighting for the film, Ekta Kapoor was the fairy godmother for them. She came on board as the presenter for the film, took it to the Film Certification Tribunal (FCAT) and got it an A certificate after deleting a few scenes.
Kolkata’s Singing sensation Soumita Saha literally won hearts of her readers, listeners and followers when she published a blog titled “Celebrating the Release of Lipstick Under My Burkha” .
‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ is not only a film anymore. It is a movement that is willing to free the women of this country from the clutches of societal norms.
