But that’s exactly what the makers of movies like Punjab 1984, Jatt & Juliet 1 and 2, Sardarji 1 and 2, and Saab Bahadar have successfully accomplished, winning the hearts of many as they change the movie viewing experience in the Punjabi film industry.
Now, White Hill Studios are ready with their newest experiment, the epic love story Channa Mereya. Set to release on July 14th, Channa Mereya stars Ninja and Payal Rajput in the leading roles, alongside Yograj Singh, Amrit Maan, Karamjit Anmol, and BN Sharma. It is a story about the towering egos of families, the ruthlessness of society, and above all, the lengths one will go to for unconditional love.
Says producers Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Sidhu:
“Punjabis are known for their comic timing. Through Channa Mereya, we are trying to introduce a type of story that has potential to be hit amongst the audience. It is certain that audiences will experience a quality of work in it. We wanted to have all shades of cinema, be it drama, action, emotion, romance and music and we are very hopeful that the audience will accept the hard work put in by all the team members for making this amazing film. We are waiting for the response this film will get.”
