IBV Gold’s Kuch Kuch Happens to Grace the Durban stage this June!
The anticipation is surreal for our Durban lovers, as Kuch Kuch Happens takes center stage this June! Eastern Moves Productions presents Kuch Kuch Happens this 27th – 30th June at The Playhouse Opera Theatre in Durban!
Kuch Kuch Happens tells a beautiful and soulful Bollywood love story through dance. It brings together the dynamic duo of Neha and Meera and their bride-to-be of a friend Anjali! It celebrates the love of their dear friend and her lover Rahul.
However, in every love story, there is sure to be chaos somewhere. Rahul’s best friend Sameer joins in on the celebration only to be Cupid’s next target, along with Neha! Is Cupid’s arrow accurate enough? Kuch Kuch is bound to happen! The only way to know, is to see this amazing story unfold.
Making an phenomenal comeback after 6 years, Shivani Kara joins Eastern Moves Productions on this amazing journey sure to take our breaths away. A Bollywood story depicted in the most graceful manner right before our very own eyes! Kuch Kuch Happens brings us a brand new stellar cast, world class choreography, and music from the golden era to the latest chart topping Bollywood hits.

The story was written by Yujir Rampersad. Told through music and dance. The quintessential love story takes us on a dramatic journey of unrequited love, something most of us know quite a lot about! Talk about a show we can certainly relate to! Spicy love triangles, drama, emotion, mesmerizing dancers, dazzling costumes and so much more! Already sold! Not to mention the few twists and surprises in between.
It takes us on a roller coaster of emotions. A diverse palette of songs in the production. Each song has been carefully selected to enhance each scene in the story.
Furthermore, it includes an exceptionally talented cast! A multicultural cast led by only the best South African Bollywood entertainment industry.
Cast Members
Sashin Kandhai
Above all, our favourite superstar, Sashin Kandhai is most certainly one to watch! He is a choreographer, dancer and actor born in Durban, living in Johannesburg. Sashin works with a multifaceted entertainment company, Oriental Fire. He is the winner of many local and international dance championships. He has shared the stage with many Bollywood stars such as Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and the legend herself, Madhuri Dixit. Under the training of Bollywood choreographer to the stars, Geeta Kapur.
Shaastra Nagesar
A dancer and radio personality on Lotus FM. Shaastra is currently the producer and co-presenter on the Breakfast Show. She began dancing at the age of 8 and is a qualified Kumari in the classical dance form of Bharata Natyam. From stage to television presenting, entertainment is most certainly in her blood! Her acting talent is rather breathtaking, and her genuine personality is enjoyed by her thousands of fans.
Uraysha Ramrachia
Uraysha is a classically trained dancer. She has built a repertoire performing dance forms such as Kathak, Indian Folk, Contemporary, African Contemporary and IndoJazz for numerous dignitaries and international events.
Furthermore, her training includes working with exponents of the Shiamak Davar Institute of Performing Arts and Jhalak Dikhlaja Winner and Bollywood choreographer Shampa Sonthalia, amongst others. Uraysha is also a graduate of Anupam Kher’s acting school – Actor Prepares, based in Mumbai. Which similarly, couples perfectly with her degrees in both Drama and Law. Even more, she has held titles such as Miss IPL Deccan Chargers and Miss India Mauritius.
This talented trio portrays the characters of Neha, Meera and Sameer! They are joined by a cast of 23 dancers as well. Trust us, you do not want to miss this show. It is bound to leave you speechless and wanting more!
