CROWN THE BROWN: KANDASAMYS THE WEDDING PREMIERE

Crown The Brown had the privilege of attending Kandasamys The Wedding World Premiere. Glitz, glamour and prestige certainly set the scene at Gateway Theatre of Shopping this past Wednesday. 10th April 2019 for the world premiere of Kandasamys: The Wedding

Reese Naidoo and Riashri Moodley

The words of Jailoshini Naidoo’s on-screen character, Jennifer Kandasamy, “The Kandasamys don’t do small,” therefore rang true. As the cinema atrium was hence transformed into an extravagant wedding-themed reception area for its 2000 attendees!

Above all, the cast and crew, sponsors and whose-who of Durban were also eagerly anticipating the first ever screening of the sequel to its successor, Keeping Up With The Kandasamys. Boy were they most certainly in for a treat!

With the plot centered around the build-up to and wedding of on-screen couple Prishen (Madhushan Singh) and Jodi (Mishqah Parthiephal). There are rather plenty of giggles, relatable experiences and so many “aaah” moments.

Keeping the audience enthralled while also showcasing central themes in the Indian community. As that of a mother’s love and hence, the excitement of a “Big Fat Indian Wedding as stated by Shanti Naidoo (Maeshni Naicker).

Even more, with the amazing build-up and decor. We were able to get some insight and thoughts from the cast members in terms of their experiences on set and more!

Furthermore, the sequel, officially releases later this week- 10 April 2019. It is certainly going to be a box office hit! As guests left the cinema awe-struck with a mix of emotions.

Similarly, we are certainly proud of the effort the cast, crew and Director, Jayan Moodley . The effort put into this grand local production and also showcasing our local talent and kaleidoscope of culture.
