California to enjoy "Midnight Delight"!

Rohit Gupta has found his place in the world of art-house cinema, creating independent films on unique topics.  ‘Midnight Delight’, his latest directorial comedy feature film, which is also written and produced by Rohit, has been invited to showcase as an official selection at the first Cannabis Film Festival (CFF) of the US in Garberville, California, described as the Marijuana heartland of the USA by BBC. Guess you can say it is “high” time such an award show was started!  The film will be screened at 20:15 local time on May 2nd and followed by an award ceremony the next day.  This is the perfect award show for the film to be entered into as it is based on characters who get into some crazy conversations while in a smoking lounge!

Stephen Quiggle, Executive Director, CFF had some positive words to say about ‘Midnight Delight’,

“While I cannot determine what the final selection of our judges will be, I can tell you that Midnight Delight stands out as unique among our finalists. The film is a pure treat from start to finish!”

Gupta broke through with his debut feature ‘Life! Camera Action...’ a 90-minute family drama and a four-minute thriller ‘Another Day Another Life’ shown back-to-back at various international film festivals. Both films received high praise and won several awards at festivals around the world including at the prestigious Cannes. ‘Midnight Delight’ is very different from his earlier work. Tag-lined “Say hi to high…” and “Couch. Conversations. Clarity”, the 85-minute movie is a composition of nine vignettes of characters at a smoking lounge and their hilarious antics over conversations with people they have never met before.

Featuring Alexandra Hellquist, Shaheed Woods, Michele Suttile, Maggie Alexander, Rachel Myers, John Crann, Michael Laguerre, Dipti Mehta, Adit Dileep, Sofia Sivan and Bill McCrea, ‘Midnight Delight’ is co-produced by Saumin Mehta who is also credited for most of its post-production. The theme song I get high is performed by Filo.
