Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 for the first time ever gave a model the chance to win a global contract with IMG Models, international leader in talent discovery and model management.
Lakmé Fashion Week Model Auditions winner Kiyara has been chosen by IMG Models as the winner of the contract – Kiyara wins an IMG Models worldwide (Paris, Milan, NY, London and Sydney) representation contract for 2 years. She was picked from over 200 models who auditioned for Lakmé Fashion Week Winter Festive 2017 Model Auditions in Mumbai and Bengaluru last month. The Lakmé Fashion Week Model Audition is credited with introducing some of India’s most recognized faces including Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Bhumika Arora, and most recently Anjali Lama, India’s first transgender model.
18-year-old, Kiyara comes from Sangaria, a small orthodox town in Rajasthan. The Grade 12 Humanities student who is equally curious about NASA and time travel always aspired to be a part of the modelling industry. She is overwhelmed at being given the opportunity to not only walk at Lakmé Fashion Week but also represent India on the International runway. Kiyara cites Gigi Hadid, Kate Moss, Adriana Lima, Karlie Kloss and Candice Swanepoel as her inspiration, and hopes to one day walk for Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi, and Versace. She is excited to be travelling abroad for the very first time and hopes to see the world!
