Popular anchor, Gunjan Utreja who we have seen in many award shows as host and can now be seen in the new season of music reality show, Voice India. Talking about an anchors role in a show, Gunjan says,
“An anchor is the backbone of the show. A good anchor can take the show to a whole new level. Anybody can host a show but only the best can handle the crisis. Life is unpredictable and anything can go wrong during a show. You need to be intelligent, sharp, witty, spontaneous and composed to handle a situation like this. As a host you have to be in control of things and have to think ten steps ahead of everyone around you on the set. Easier said than done. That’s why you cannot train anyone to be an anchor. Spontaneity, good command over the language, being well read and having a well groomed personality is a must.”
So how much you will rate yourself on the scale of one to ten when it comes to your anchoring skills? Gunjan says,
“A wise man once said ‘never blow your own trumpet’; let your work do the talking. So it would be unfair to rate my own self. All I know Is that I am blessed to have done some phenomenal work in last one decade. Various TV shows and more than a thousand live shows are a testimony of the same. And I wish to continue doing that.”
